The Habit of Practice

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.~ Aristotle

Aristotle also said excellence is a state concerned with choice. This is key. You have power – the power of choice. You don’t have to live forever instinctively. You can STOP, TAKE A BREATH, and ASK:

“What do I choose to be, to do and to have in my life right now?”

Then, set about practicing that. There is the start of excellence.

Ask yourself the secret of your success. Listen to your answer, and practice it.” ~ Richard Bach
