My Birthday Reflection

Today as I reflect on my birthday, I pause to remember two icons.

No matter what we may have thought of either of them, they had influence and made an impact. I grew up loving both of them. They impacted my life in ways I could never have imagined.

When we leave the room, the party, the job, this world… will people be glad you were there?

I am reminded of Michael’s song, Man in the Mirror ~ "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change."

We don’t know when we will leave this world; but we can make sure someone was glad we came.

I had lovely birthday sentiments; I was called inspiring, a light, mentor, uplifting, positive, sister…

I don’t take those sentiments lightly; I truly take them to heart knowing that to be is my choice. Yes, I have challenges and struggles. Yes, I choose the road not taken, because in the end, it has made all the difference.

Rest now, my sister Farrah, my brother Michael. Your work here is done.
