“The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors, that
which it loves, and also that which it fears. It reaches the height of its
cherished aspirations. It falls to the level of its unchastened desires - and
circumstances are the means by which the soul receives its own.” ~ James Allen
We each have a tendency towards the negative in life. If you
receive fifteen compliments and one criticism – which would you focus all your
attention on? Yes, the criticism; totally ignoring the fifteen compliments.
Why is this?
We have been conditioned to focus on the negative and those negative
thoughts, unfortunately, become our reality.
In the Book of Job we hear Job saying, “What I feared has
come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.”
Proverb wisdom tells us that as a man thinks in his heart,
so is he.
We must choose to consciously focus our attention towards
what we do want to be, to do and to have. This must become habit if we are to
have the life we desire.
So, just for today, choose to focus on the compliments and
not the criticisms.
